I'm just a Girl who decided to

Shontavia Hornsby is an Author, Entrepreneur, Founder of Raising a Diamond girl’s mentor organization, and a Life coach. After 20 years of a corporate career building someone else's dream, and inspired by her youth experience. Shontavia was inspired to step out on faith and fulfill her purpose. If you can Dream It, Believe It, you can Achieve It! She quickly founded Raising a Diamond- a girl's mentor organization, and has been a positive impact in many lives. Her work aims to empower young girls through education, mentoring, enhancing self esteem, and building leadership skills.

Shontavia is the author of her new highly anticipated book, Living For Me- a 21 day guide to living your best life.

Shontavia holds a B.A. (1996) in Political Science from Prairie View A&M University and a M.S. (2012) in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University.

She lends her time to causes that are close to her heart. As an active member of Black Women In Business, an organization that transform black businesses by educating and encouraging entrepreneurs. She serves on the executive team as Mentor chair. Shontavia is also a dedicated volunteer with Meals on Wheels for over 16 years.

It is her mission to inspire a generation of women, who desire to build self confidence, want leadership development, and have a commitment to giving back. Shontavia believes three components to the development of confident young girls are finding a passion- something to do that inspires you, having a peer mentor- someone to look up to and go to as needed, and something to stand for- a cause outside of self to believe in and actively support. Raising a Diamond and her Life coaching program is the embodiment of these beliefs in action.

In addition to her works with young girls, her passion is to encourage, inspire, and uplift women; to teach them how to learn from their experiences, tap into their own gift, and build a business that will change their lives and others.

She has been featured in publications for her works in Today's Purpose Woman's and as Miss February 2018 for the Today's Purpose Woman 2018 Calendar.

When she is not empowering girls/women to pursue their greatness. Shontavia enjoys traveling, reading, yoga, spending quality time with family/friends.

She currently resides in Austin, TX
